Intelligent money

Over the past few years, we've seen the emergence of cleaner interfaces to interact with money (Revolut, Nubank, Robinhood) and rails to move it programmatically (blockchains/stablecoins). But money itself has remained dumb, with no context on the person who holds it and no ability to act on their behalf.

AI has provided us with the missing ingredient, encoding our preferences into software. Coupled with blockchains, which allow stablecoins to be programmed (in essence turning money into software), we can now program people's preferences directly into money. The result is money that is intelligent. Informed by who we are, what we want, and capable of acting for us.

Building products around intelligent money is the big opportunity for the next generation of financial services companies.

One emerging category of these products is crypto wallets with AI capabilities, commonly referred to as agentic wallets. We made an investment in one called Gina, which lets you interact with a crypto wallet through natural language. Rather than navigating the complexities of making onchain transactions manually (bridging across chains, choosing swap venues, etc), you just tell Gina in a chat interface what you want done and she does it for you.

Beyond simple transactions, you can also set up automated strategies that run continuously in the background across spot, perpetuals and prediction markets. These strategies can range from simple to sophisticated and operate at any frequency and duration you want. I currently have a strategy running on Polymarket that runs 24/7 and executes multiple times an hour.

When setting up and managing strategies you can brainstorm with Gina, use her to generate ideas or refine your thinking, and have her run backtests for you. No engineering is required. She also keeps you updated on Telegram throughout the day with what trades were made and why. It feels like having a financial advisor in your pocket. One that doesn't require a minimum net worth and has little to no fees.

If you're interested in setting up strategies on Gina, I'd recommend starting with smaller sums of money before potentially scaling up. Gina is capable, but like any AI system, she can make mistakes and you don't want to have more capital at risk than you're comfortable with. You also want to be sure your strategy works. I'll increase my exposure as she builds a track record of executing trades as intended and I can see that they are profitable.

Intelligent money excites me because it allows people to do more with their money, through products that are simple to use and widely accessible. You state your intent in plain language and the software moves your money for you, into places that match your preferences and earn you more. As these products have more interactions with you, they improve. Over time, we'll be able to say less and get more done, offloading more and more of the work, as money gathers more context and becomes more intelligent. And the more intelligent money becomes, the better for the end user.
